Susanne understands the importance of protecting our groundwater. During a recent tour of Hidden Valley Lake Community Service District’s treatment pond, she discussed waste water treatment with Timothy Quinn, Association of California Water Agencies executive director.

Pets don’t vote, but meeting all the wonderful dogs and cats in District 1 is an enjoyable bonus to precinct walking! Susanne also attended the grand opening of the Lake County Animal Care and Control Shelter May 26 in Lakeport. The new shelter can hold up to approximately 120 adoptable animals.

A special tour of Lower Lake’s Six Sigma Ranch, August 30, 2008, offered more than wine tasting for Susanne and friends. Topics discussed included wine grapes, agricultural water use, conservation easements and educational opportunities for youth. Susanne bid on the tour at a fundraiser supporting the International Charter School in Middletown.
